A quiet, twelve-room Japanese-style ryokan near Lake Kinrin and the Yunotsubo shopping street in Yufuin. Every room's own tub runs on onsen water, so you can soak any time you like, and six rooms, added in a 2009 refit, have their own open-air bath. The shared bathhouse splits into two rooms, one built in cypress and one in stone, and swaps between men and women through the day. The water itself is soft and mild, the kind guests say leaves their skin smooth. Staying here also opens the bath at the sister ryokan next door, Tanokura, reached through a connecting corridor. Meals are a seasonal kaiseki course served in your room.
