About

Shimoda Bay Kuroshio is a hillside hotel above Shimoda, with two separate hot-spring baths that swap between men's and women's daily: an ocean-view bath on the top floor with a sauna and a jet tub, and a garden rotenburo on the mountain side for star-gazing at night. The water itself is clear, odorless, and smooth on the skin. Day guests can book a soak in the afternoon and evening, and there's a lounge with massage chairs to unwind in afterward. It's a hotel built around the view, with rooms and dining facing the bay and a seasonal outdoor pool for families in summer.
