The source emerges hot in the high-50s Celsius and carries 123 mg/kg of metasilicic acid.

About

Onsen Hotel Gorakan is a small, casual ryokan in Gora with milky, sulfur-scented water. The nicest bath here is a private, reservable outdoor tub, though its washing area sits outside too, which can feel bracing in colder months. The shared indoor bath is on the modest side, with just a couple of washing spots. Bathe early and you may catch the sun rising over the mountain across the valley. Breakfast and dinner come with the stay, and reviewers describe a generous, home-style spread of small dishes.

181. Onsen Hotel Gorakan, Hakone Randomly stopped by for day-use at 13:35, ended up paying 3000 for a private bath and 1200 for the public indoor bath. Towel provided. Private bath would be more expensive with more people. Located near Gora station. Private outdoor bath with milky water and a large amount of white calcium deposits (literally sitting at the bottom). Hot+ temperature. Public indoor bath is old-school and in need of repair (one of the bath edges was coming off). Milky water with white calcium deposits. The calcium even forms small bubbles on the surface. Hot water temperature. It was stuffy inside. If you need a private bath with amazing calcium-rich water — worth visiting, and it's close to the station. The public bath can be skipped.
