A simple radon spring of Arima's silver-water (ginsen) tradition. The wellhead is cold at 18.2 °C, neutral pH 7.35, colorless and transparent, tasteless and odorless. Radon registers at a high 1,900 Bq/kg (about 140 mache units), placing it firmly in the radon-hormesis family; the source is reheated for bathing.

340. Koki, Arima Onsen I went for a higaeri for ¥1,300 without a towel (listed as 09:30~19:00). There are private baths, but I did not use them. Inside: - a small bath with clear water, temperature 42; - a small bath with cloudy brown water and bubbles, temperature 43. The air inside is good to breathe. For ¥1,300, the baths are very modest. It is of course not worth that money, but otherwise it is a simple, cozy place. 05.01.2025
