63. Hidasanso, Gero Onsen Went with a tegata for higaeri (listed from 15 to 20 on weekdays, 18 to 20 on weekends). There's only one small indoor bath. View through fogged-up glass onto a small garden and a frog figurine. Old-timers also present. Water is clear, temperature is hardcore — definitely the hottest of all the onsens I visited in Gero. If you need it hot — recommended. Otherwise — skippable.
