About

All the baths here are outside, right at the base of Odaru (大滝), a large waterfall on the Kawazu River. You soak in the open air with the sound and spray of the falls around you, wearing a swimsuit (required; rentals on-site). The whole area is mixed bathing. A private cave bath is available on 30-minute reservations. In summer, the onsen water also feeds a 25-meter pool. There are no indoor baths, no shampoo or soap, and no washing facilities, so it's more of an outdoor soaking experience than a traditional onsen visit.
