A simple thermal spring (Oka No. 165) at the gentler end of the spectrum. Weakly alkaline at pH 8.04, it sits softly in Japan's beauty-water family — slippery on the skin without sharpness. Mineralization is light at 744 mg/kg and the source temperature is a mild 38.8 °C, lightly warmed for the indoor bath at Yokikan.

CityYokikan is a traditional inn perched above the town of Ito, offering a rooftop outdoor bath with a view over the city and the sea. The water is a blend of simple spring and chloride spring. Note that the baths switched from mixed to gender-separated rotation in October 2022.

206. Yokikan Hotel, Ito (pt.1 - general information and outdoor bath) ★★ A ryokan with a funicular, recommended by Vren since 2016. I stayed overnight, and the price for one person in July from Saturday to Sunday, including breakfast and dinner, was 20k yen on Booking. The food was kaiseki, nothing super fancy, but good, and an old lady brings it to the room. It is at a tolerable distance from the station, and if you want, you can walk there. There are several higaeri onsen nearby. I was met by an older man who speaks English very well. Because of Vren's recommendations, this ryokan in Ito has become very popular with Russian tourists, which the hotel staff themselves have started to notice, and they seem not to really understand the reason for this flash mob. The changing room has air conditioning, which is especially nice in summer. 2. Large indoor bath, the water is clear, hot in temperature, and easy to breathe in. The room and the bath itself are more spacious, and there is a tinted window. A good ryokan in Ito.
