Taikanso Senaminoyu

Taikanso Senaminoyu sits right on the beach at Senami Onsen, with two large bathhouses, one for men and one for women, each pairing an indoor bath with an open-air rotenburo that looks straight out at the Sea of Japan, plus a low-temperature sauna (no cold plunge) with the same view. A reservable private bath combines its own indoor and outdoor tub for guests who want the water to themselves, and a free footbath sits on the beach with an onsen-egg stand next to it. The water itself is warm and lightly salty, typical of Senami's springs. Rooms in the higher Taikan (大観) grade go further, each with its own balcony tub filled straight from the spring. The whole ryokan is built around the sunset: baths, rooms and dining rooms face west over the water, and evenings here tend to end with everyone watching the light go down into the sea just outside.
