Onsen Tamago-do (おんせんたまご道, "Way of the Hot Spring Egg") is a special collaboration between the Beppu Hatto Onsen-do program and twelve Beppu-area facilities that serve distinctive onsen eggs, centered on the Kannawa and Myōban quarters. Participants collect two kinds of stamps in the official Onsen-bon (温泉本) guidebook: egg-purchase stamps at the twelve participating facilities and bath-entry stamps at Onsen-do bathhouses.
How to earn
This badge is awarded by Onsen Oni moderators to users who have earned the Tamago-do Shodan (初段, initial rank) certification. Send evidence (certificate or towel photo) through the feedback channel and moderators will grant the badge.
Shodan requirements
- 4 egg-purchase stamps from the twelve Tamago-do facilities
- 8 bath-entry stamps on the Onsen-do side
- ¥1,000 certification fee
- Awarded a special Tamago-do Shodan towel — limited to 300 towels
