About

A sento in Kanamachi, Katsushika ward, fully renovated and reopened in September 2021 under a New Retro concept that keeps the features of its traditional miya-zukuri temple-style architecture. The old attendant's box (bandai) is preserved as an exhibit, alongside Showa-era touches like a beckoning cat, a small garden, a coffered ceiling, a pillar clock, and a painted wall mural (penki-e). A cold bath was added beside the jet and bubble baths, and the bathing rooms (one with a sauna, one without) swap between men and women each Friday. The sauna side has an outdoor cooling space. Bicycle parking is provided. About 7 minutes on foot from Kanamachi Station on the Joban Line.
