Hachikuro Onsen (八九郎温泉, はちきゅうろうおんせん) is a wild spring tucked inside a vinyl greenhouse on the edge of farmland and forest in Kosaka, Akita. The water is noticeably carbonated, bubbling visibly at the spout. There are separate baths for men and women, no showers, and no towels provided. Entry is by donation, left in a box at the door. No operator, no fixed hours.
