About
Dake no Yu is a no-frills toji (湯治) inn in Dake Onsen. A large bath is the main attraction, and regulars say the water runs very hot, hot enough to surprise first-timers, with plenty of yuka (湯花, mineral flakes) in it. Guests stay room-only and cook in the shared kitchen, and day bathers (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴) are also taken. The building is old and the facilities are basic, which is much of the appeal for people after a traditional long-stay bathing inn. Bring your own shampoo and a towel.
