A sodium-led bicarbonate-chloride spring — the classic jūsō-sen (soda-water) style with a salty edge layered in. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, it sits in the Japanese beauty-water family valued for leaving skin smooth. The water carries a faint yellow tint and a slight iron taste, with moderate mineralization (about 2,205 mg/kg dissolved solids) giving it noticeable body.

400. Yōmyaku Yutō Onsen, Hita, Oita ★ Onsen for ¥650. The stated hours are 10:00-20:00 (except Tue). They stamp the Kyushu 88 Onsen stamp rally. The onsen has a collaboration with Attack on Titan, and a towel with artwork has been released, showing a titan climbing out from behind this onsen's bath. At the time of the visit in January, the towels were in stock. The bath photos from the internet match the actual place. The baths are indoors, and it is easy to breathe. The main bath is a stone bath with clear water and very fine lime, temperature 40. There is one utaseyu. The second bath is a herbal bath, the water is a slightly cloudy yellowish clear color, temperature 41-42. Given such a unique collaboration, it is a very interesting place, especially for fans. 12.01.2025
