Hinode Onsen is a small neighborhood sento in downtown Shimonoseki, the only one in the city center that runs on natural hot-spring water. The single bathing room holds a jacuzzi-style bath, a bubble bath, an electric bath and a cold plunge, plus a wet mist sauna that keeps the room warm and humid rather than dry. It is a plain, everyday bathhouse rather than a destination, and tattoos are welcome.
