Minshuku Okukawairi is a family-run guesthouse at the far end of the Kotamagawa valley in Oguni, Yamagata. Guests stay in Japanese-style rooms, and a visitor describes a roomy bath with a view in the same annex. The bath is not advertised as a hot spring. Meals are served in the sitting room of the main house, often alongside other guests, with local mountain vegetables and game in season. The Iide mountains can be seen from here when the weather is clear. Parking is free. Regulars often describe the feel as visiting a relative's home in the countryside.
