A sulfur-bearing sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate spring that rises under its own pressure at 97 °C — among Japan's hottest natural sources, and necessarily cooled before it reaches a bath. At the wellhead the water is almost colorless and clear, yet it carries a frank sulfurous taste over a light saltiness and the unmistakable rotten-egg note of H₂S. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, it also runs a generous 219.6 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, putting it squarely in Japan's beauty-water family, while the chloride and sulfate load gives the moderate mineralization a warmth that lingers well after the bath.

The second Kanaguya borehole is a free-flowing well at 95 °C — among Japan's hottest natural sources — delivering sulfur-bearing sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate water. With 4.1 mg/kg of bisulfide alongside free H₂S, the sulfurous taste and the unmistakable rotten-egg note are obvious at the source even though the water itself is almost colorless and clear, with a slight saltiness and a touch of bitterness behind them. Weakly alkaline and moderately mineralized, it also carries 211 mg/kg of metasilicic acid — the silica-rich, beauty-water profile that leaves skin feeling noticeably smoother, while the chloride and sulfate side holds the heat in.

A neutral sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate water, pumped rather than free-flowing from the well at the Kanaguya annex. The chloride side is what holds the heat in; the sulfate side gives the moderate mineralization a quiet body. The water is almost colorless and clear, but it tastes faintly of iron over a light saltiness with a touch of bitterness behind it. Metasilicic acid at 164.2 mg/kg is high enough to leave a thin silica film that smooths the feel on the skin.

鎌倉風呂Kamakura-buro Blended Spring

A blended source — two separate wells combined before analysis — reading as a sodium-calcium sulfate-chloride spring. It runs weakly acidic, so the water feels faintly tightening rather than slippery; it is almost colorless and clear, with a slight bitterness and a faint iron edge on the tongue, and the sulfate side gives it a quiet body. At 150.5 mg/kg the metasilicic acid is high enough to leave a thin silica film on the skin. The ryokan's own bath map shows this source feeding the communal Kamakura-buro.
