Hotel 1-2-3 Kofu-Shingen Onsen

Hotel 1-2-3 is a plain business hotel in Kofu that happens to have real hot-spring water. The indoor bath has a waterfall-style shower called utaseyu (打たせ湯), a cold plunge and a sauna. Two separate bathhouses swap between men and women every morning and night, so an overnight stay lets you try both, and a private bath can also be reserved separately. Guests describe the water as silky on the skin with a faint golden tint. Rooms are simple and the building shows its age, but breakfast is free, and the hotel belongs to a small chain built around the idea that a room gets cheaper the more people share it.
