This small hotel sits above the Sandankyo gorge, where the Shiwaki river cuts through thick forest, and its separate indoor baths for men and women look straight out onto that greenery. The water is a natural radon-bearing mineral spring, drawn cool rather than piping hot, which the hotel treats as its signature bath. Day visitors can come just for a soak, and there is also a lunch-only option if you want to eat before or after.
