Hot Springs Lodge Alpina

A small lodge in Inawashiro, Fukushima, with onsen water piped to private baths that guests book by time slot, so you get the bath to yourself. Bathing is in the evening only. Reviewers describe a soft, light-yellow water that leaves the skin smooth. The building is a converted apartment block, and the owner, who moved here from the Kanto area, gets warm mentions for the friendly welcome and the freshly ground coffee.
