Akayu Onsen Riverbed Pools

Natural hot pools in the riverbed, just upstream of the Akayu Onsen hut in Yuzawa. There is no enclosure and no changing place, and it is mixed bathing, so bathers sort that out as they go. The pools are roomy enough for a few people, and when it gets too hot you can step into the river. One summer visitor found the temperature comfortable, and the winter state is not known. The report is an older one, so conditions may have changed.
