A small family-run ryokan at the foot of the Hachikita Kogen ski slopes, in Hachikita Onsen. The natural hot-spring bath runs mild and gentle, warm enough to soak in for a long while without needing to step out. Meals are home-cooked with rice and vegetables the family grows, and day guests are welcome to come just for breakfast or dinner without staying the night. It has the feel of a small ski lodge that regulars keep coming back to, largely run by the owner himself.
