Nametsu Onsen is a small public bath (koshu yokujo, 公衆浴場) for day use, opened in July 2010 at the foot of Mount Hiyama inside a prefectural nature park. The bathing is simple: one indoor bath, four washing stations with shampoo and body soap, and a large hall to rest in afterwards. You can also drink the spring water as part of the traditional drinking cure (insen ryoho, 飲泉療法). It is run by a local management association under the city, and it is compact, so it feels more like a neighborhood bath than a resort. Bring your own towel.
