Hamamasu Spa

This is a small day-use bathhouse run by the local welfare council in Hamamasu, a coastal district of Ishikari. The baths are simple and functional: an indoor bath, an open-air bath ringed by mountains, a bubble bath, a sauna and a cold plunge. There's a rest hall and a tatami room for lingering after bathing, and washing stations are stocked with shampoo and body soap. It's the kind of unpretentious neighborhood bath locals use after a round of park golf or a day at the nearby Kawashimo seaside area, rather than a destination in itself.
