YesHours run 6:00 to 21:00 daily, with last entry 30 minutes before close. December 31st closes early at 15:00, and January 1st runs from noon to 21:00. The bathhouse can also close without notice for maintenance, announced on its social media.
Using the rest room costs an extra 600 yen for adults on top of the bathing fee. An 11 visit ticket book is 4,500 yen.

About
Garyu Onsen Aota Kenko Land is a plain neighborhood day-use bathhouse on the Yamagata bypass road, where you buy a ticket from the machine and hand it in at the reception by the entrance. It has two indoor tubs, Iwaburo (岩風呂, a rock bath) and Kannon-buro (観音風呂, named for Kannon), and swaps them between the men's and women's side on the 1st and 16th of each month. The water runs distinctly hot and smooth on the skin, and regulars come back for exactly that. A rest room with tables and wifi is open to anyone paying the extra day-use fee. The name Garyu (臥龍, "reclining dragon") comes from an old story: meltwater from the sacred peak Zao (蔵王) was said to feed the spring, and the river's bend below Mt. Takiyama (瀧山) looked, to those who named it, like a dragon lying down.
