Katakuri no Yado is an inn in a former elementary school in Kettone, in the Akiyamago valley. It has seven Japanese-style guest rooms and a bath with a faint sulfur smell, which reviewers say is housed in the old principal's room. Day-use bathing (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴) is available. Guests praise the meals built around mountain vegetables and the starry nights, and it suits people visiting for the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale or coming down from a hike.
