A small ryokan in Takase onsen, a short way over the bridge from the Arakawa river. The men's and women's baths are separate, fed by kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し) spring water, and guests say the water runs on the hot side. Some rooms look out over the river. Day visitors can bathe too, but it is best to phone ahead, since they may turn people away when the bath is busy. A lunch or dinner plan with a private room is also possible by reservation. The building is old and the feel is Showa-era, clean and unfussy, with a friendly okami and big home-style dinners. Parking is available, and bikers mention a covered garage.
