Day Use
YesOn the monthly special inspection day, day-use bathing starts at 16:00 instead of the usual time. The sauna itself only opens from 15:00 and isn't available in the mornings.
Day-use bathing costs 1200 yen for adults, 1000 yen for seniors 65 and older, and 600 yen for children aged 3 to 12; a towel is a separate 150 yen. On the 26th of each month, Furo no Hi (風呂の日), the rates drop to 800, 680 and 400 yen.

The outdoor bath at Miyazaki Kanko Hotel runs on real onsen water: faintly cloudy, and smooth on the skin. The indoor bath next to it isn't spring water, and there's a sauna with a cold plunge beside it. Day-use bathing runs from afternoon into the evening. The hotel itself is a large city property on the Oyodo River in central Miyazaki, and the outdoor bath takes its name, Tamayura no Yu (たまゆらの湯), from the Kawabata Yasunari novel "Tamayura," set on this same riverbank. It also runs six restaurants.
