There's no communal bath here. All bathing runs through three separate bath rooms that any guest can use whenever they like, no reservation needed: Ichi-no-yu (壱の湯) and Ni-no-yu (弐の湯) each have an indoor tub, a reclining tub, and a rotenburo, while San-no-yu (参の湯) is indoor only. The spring is Norikura Kogen Onsen (乗鞍高原温泉), a simple sulfur water that comes out cloudy and milky white, with the faint mineral smell you'd expect from a sulfur bath. The inn itself is a small, quiet pension in the forest of Norikura Kogen, an easy stop for people heading up Norikura-dake or over to Kamikochi. Dinner is home-style Japanese cooking built around Shinshu vegetables, with a Western-style breakfast the next morning.
