About
The water at Satsuki-so is milky white with a distinct sulfur smell, piped down from the slopes of Mt. Norikura. The inn has a private garden rotenburo you can reserve for just your group, plus separate indoor baths for men and women with a light hinoki scent. The rotenburo's garden view changes through the year, azaleas in spring, green in summer, autumn leaves, then snow in winter, though the bath itself has no soap, so guests wash up in the indoor bath instead. It's a ryokan up in the Norikura Kogen highlands, part of the Northern Alps.
