Deyu Onsen Kehoji no Yu

Kehoji no Yu is a day-use bath in Deyu Onsen that opened in April 2026 in a new black-fronted building, replacing the old Kehoji communal bath (共同浴場, kyodo yokujo) on the temple grounds. Inside there are indoor baths only, with no open-air bath and no sauna. The washing area has shampoo, conditioner and body soap, and the changing room has keyed lockers. The water is mild and slippery on the skin, and bathers say it keeps them warm long after getting out. Face towels are sold, so bring your own if you need one. A statue of Kobo Daishi that used to stand in the old bathroom now sits in a small rock niche behind the building.
