About

A small communal bath (kyodo yokujo, 共同浴場) in the Deyu Onsen village, rebuilt in February 2008 and known locally as Shin-yu (新湯). The water is natural hot-spring water that runs through the tub, clear and soft, and on the mild side, so it is easy to stay in for a long time. Men's and women's baths are separate. There are four wash stations, two of them with showers, but no soap or shampoo is provided, so bring your own. An attendant sits at the front and you hand over a ticket from the machine. Locals come early in the morning, and some drink from the spout. Parking is a free lot a short walk away.
