Hotel Parens Onoya

Hotel Parens Onoya is a hotel-style ryokan on the Chikugo river in Harazuru onsen, Fukuoka. The garden rotenburo has two baths, Hoshi-no-yu (星の湯) and Sora-no-yu (宙の湯), that swap between the men's and women's sides on a schedule, open until late in the evening and again from early morning. Indoors there is a bath floored in tatami instead of stone, soft and non-slip to sit on, next to a sauna. Three private baths in a courtyard garden, Momiji-no-yu (もみじの湯), Satsuki-no-yu (さつきの湯) and Hana-no-yu (花の湯), are reservable by guests only, and a detached room, Taigetsu-an (待月庵), has its own bath fed straight from the source. Harazuru onsen is known for combining two mineral types in one source, and the water here feels gentle on the skin. The hotel is set up for families, with a kids' room, and rooms on the upper floors look out over the river and the Mino mountains beyond the paddy fields.
