720. Miyoshi Yumoto, Beppu ★★ Stayed overnight, no day-use available. Budget-friendly but very cozy ryokan. Not included in Beppu Onsen-do - they do not stamp the 88 onsen pilgrimage book. Previously there were 6 private baths, but with accommodation only 4 were available (two outdoor and two indoor). No reservation required for private baths, and there are no public baths in the ryokan. Showers in the rooms were unavailable, and the sink faucet only provided cold water. 1. Outdoor private stone bath. No view - behind a fence. Very cozy in the evening. Water is clear, temperature about 40°C. 2. Indoor private bath. Water is clear with rare fine brown mineral deposits. Temperature about 39°C. Comfortable to breathe inside. 3. Outdoor private stone bath. No view - behind a fence. Cozy. Water is clear, temperature about 40°C. 4. Indoor private bath. Water is clear with rare fine brown mineral deposits. Temperature about 42°C. Comfortable to breathe inside. Seems like a simple budget place with a Japanese old man as the owner, but it has a homely and pleasant atmosphere. The outdoor private baths are great and fit very well with the overall vibe. Recommended for those who like the format of budget old ryokans. 04.01.2026 05.01.2026
