Yama-no-yu is a municipal communal bath (kyodo yokujo, 共同浴場) in Echigo-Yuzawa, and one of the town's five soto-yu (外湯) baths that visitors tour on a bath-hopping round. It has a single indoor bath, separate for men and women, filled with sulfur spring water. Reviewers say the water feels fresh. There are wash taps with shampoo and body soap but no showers, and no sauna. Day visitors are welcome (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴), and there is a small parking lot for 10 cars.
