A sodium-calcium sulfate spring emerging at a scalding 71.1 °C, well into Japan's hottest decile of natural sources. Alkaline (pH 8.9) with the slippery beauty-water feel on the skin, and a generous 61.4 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves a thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards. Quietly mineralized at 2.04 g/kg — settled body rather than aggressive saltiness.

A hotel resort with an onsen offering a very good price-quality balance. Many rooms have rotenburo (outdoor baths) with kakenagashi (free-flowing hot spring water) and a direct view of the sea 🌊. The rooms are spacious, new, equipped with coffee machines and microwaves. Dinner is one of the best buffets (baikingu) I have tried. Steak, fresh fish, unlimited caviar, a huge variety of everything. Excellent desserts. The public baths are decent but lack a special touch. The sauna is good and hot. There is a summer pool and a terrace with a sunset view. Perfect for couples. Definitely recommended for an overnight stay south of Wakayama city.
