Day Use
YesLast entry is at 14:00. The indoor bath opens at 11:00, but the outdoor bath is only ready from around 13:00 once its daily cleaning is finished. Hours can shift in the busiest season, so calling ahead is worth it.
Elementary-school children pay 500 yen and preschoolers 400 yen; children under 3 bathe free. A face towel is sold for 200 yen, and a larger bath towel can be rented for 300 yen.

Gohoso is a ryokan at Shinkashi Onsen, inside Nikko National Park and surrounded by old growth beech forest on the Kashi Kogen highland. Its water comes from the inn's own spring, kept flowing fresh, smooth on the skin and known locally for softening it. Three outdoor baths draw on it: Fukuju-no-yu (福寿の湯) and Birei-no-yu (美麗の湯) each pair an indoor room with a rotenburo (Birei-no-yu looks out over the surrounding mountains and changes through the seasons, autumn color to a snow rimmed winter bath), while Kajika-no-yu (鰍の湯) is a standalone outdoor bath built in 2015 from river stone and marble and closed through winter. Both indoor baths add a reclining bath, a sauna reserved for overnight guests in the evening, and a cold plunge. A private bath, Tsukimi-no-yu (月見の湯), is lined with tourmaline stone and taken by reservation. Day use bathing runs at midday, and the men's and women's baths swap after the nightly cleaning. Overnight guests can also use the sister inn's baths, a minute's walk away, at no extra charge.
