The discounted senior rate (65+) is only for residents of Okushiri town; the price includes the bathing tax.

Kamuiwaki Onsen is a small day-use bathhouse run by the town of Okushiri, on Okushiri Island off Hokkaido's coast. Natural hot-spring water is pumped up from underground and kept flowing fresh through two bathing rooms: a hotter bath on the first floor and a cooler one on the second, where glass windows look out over the Sea of Japan. It opened in 1978 as a bathing spot for locals and visitors, and stays simple, with rental towels and toiletries sold at the front desk rather than stocked at the baths.
