Two sulfur-bearing springs supply the baths here, and the water is known locally for leaving skin smooth. The bathing area has indoor and open-air tubs, including a deliberately cool bath next to a hot one, a bath with air-bubble jets, and a plunge filled straight from the spring itself, with visible flakes of sulfur, yu-hana (湯花), floating in it, a combination that's uncommon nationwide. A free mud pack, made from natural clay mined in Yamagata prefecture, can be applied before soaking. Three saunas round out the bathing side: Finnish-style, an outdoor barrel sauna, and a salt sauna. The open-air bath faces Ashibetsu's night sky, a town known for stargazing, and the hotel runs nightly guided stargazing sessions. It's the only Hokkaido location of the nationwide Ofuro Cafe chain: the hotel is built around a lounge-style bathhouse rather than just a place to bathe, with a large comic and magazine library, hammocks, a coworking corner, and a restaurant serving dishes made from local Sorachi-area ingredients, some nodding to the region's coal-mining history. Some guest rooms are certified as Welcome Baby rooms, and there's a kids' play area next to the gym.
