About

Kaboku no Yado is an inn at Azuki Onsen (小豆温泉) in Minamiaizu, Fukushima. The two large baths, Ishi-no-yu (石の湯) and Ki-no-yu (木の湯), differ: Ishi-no-yu has a heavy stone-built indoor tub and an open-air bath made with natural rock, while both tubs at Ki-no-yu, indoor and open-air, are hinoki cypress. They swap between men and women part way through the night. There is also a family bath (家族風呂) that can be reserved for private use, for an extra fee. The five annex villas (離れ) each have their own indoor bath and a stone-set open-air bath, with kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し) water, and two suites in the main building also have a private bath. The inn has 25 rooms in all, 20 in the main building and 5 in the annex. Bathing here is for staying guests: the site mentions no day-use bathing (日帰り入浴).
