About
Sagara Onsen is about as no-frills as it gets: one small indoor tub, room for a few bathers at a time, set inside a family-run dining house on the outskirts of Satsuma town. The spring water runs unfiltered and unchlorinated straight into the tub. No outdoor bath, no sauna, just a quiet soak and, if you like, a bowl of something from the attached kitchen. Part of the Kyushu Onsen Road 88 (九州八十八湯めぐり, Kyushu Hachiju-hachi Yumeguri) circuit.
