About
A Taisho-era wooden ryokan at Ichihino Onsen (市比野温泉, Ichihi-no Onsen) in Kagoshima, with a single circular indoor bath. The water is clear and smooth on the skin, and you can drink it straight from the source. Part of the Kyushu 88 Baths tour (九州八十八湯, Kyushu Hachijuhachi-yu), the inn is said to have hosted the poet Yosano Akiko (与謝野晶子). The proprietress runs the place on her own, and day-use guests are sent off with a chilled bottle of spring water.
