Hotel Hananoyu (Bandai Atami Onsen)

Hotel Hananoyu is a large onsen hotel in Bandai-Atami, Fukushima. The first floor alone holds well over a dozen open-air and indoor baths, including a sauna and a cold bath, and a separate view bath sits on the tenth floor. Two private baths, Ranpu-no-Yu (ランプの湯) and Kazoku-no-Yu (家族の湯), can be reserved for a soak, and there's also a hot-stone room and a foot bath. A few rooms, in a separate garden annex and on the ninth floor, have their own open-air bath fed straight from the source. The water is smooth on the skin and known locally as a 'beauty' bath, tied to an old legend of Hagihime (萩姫). It's a big hotel that works for groups, families and couples, with dining that runs from a Fukushima-themed buffet of local seafood and beef to private in-room kaiseki (会席).
