A municipal communal bath (kyodo yokujo, 共同浴場) in the Anabara area of Iizaka, used mostly by locals. There is one tub of clear water with a faint sulfur smell, and it runs hot. The taps at the tub let you add cold water, so regulars adjust it together. It is a bare-bones place: no soap, shampoo, shower or hair dryer, so bring your own wash things. Lockers and a rest area are there, and the building has an old-fashioned feel that reviewers like.
