About
Takimikan is an old wooden ryokan in Norikura Kogen's Suzuran district, inside Chubu-Sangaku National Park. The water is a milky white sulfur spring from Norikura Kogen Onsen, kept flowing fresh (kakenagashi). There's a separate indoor bath and a rock-built rotenburo outside, both gender-separated; the rotenburo closes for winter and runs a bit on the cool side, which regulars say makes it good for a long soak. The inn is family-run, the food gets steady praise for being home-style and generous, and the building shows its age but stays spotless by most accounts. It's a short walk from the Norikura tourist center, with the path to Zengoro Falls (善五郎の滝) starting nearby.
