Hotel Village Enzen

A small family-run hotel in Ikenotaira onsen, within walking distance of the ski slopes in Myoko Kogen. The water is colorless and clear, kept flowing fresh straight from a spring on the mountain, split into a cypress tub for men and a rock bath for women. Day visitors can use the baths too, not only overnight guests. The Maruyama family has run the place since 1981, first for skiers and now also for trail runners and cyclists training in the hills around Myoko. Rooms are plain tatami rooms with futon bedding, and meals lean on local mountain vegetables and rice grown nearby.
