A small ryokan up a mountain road in Hirota Onsen, with an indoor bath and an open-air bath that looks out over the hills. The water is smooth and a little slippery, and it runs on the lukewarm side, so you can stay in a long time without getting dizzy. The wash stations have shampoo, conditioner, body soap and hairdryers. The building is calm and Japanese-modern, and the setting feels remote. On weekends the terrace cafe serves lunch, and day visitors can bathe too.
