Moto no Yu Ryokan

A small, old-fashioned ryokan with 14 Japanese-style rooms, on the Oyu river in the Oyu (大湯) onsen town. The baths are separate for men and women and run on natural hot spring water, kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し), with no mixed bathing. Visitors tend to describe the water as hot, and regulars like it that way. The feel is retro and easygoing rather than polished, the kind of inn that suits a solo traveler, and there is parking on site.
