USHIOSOU

Ushiosou is a lodge in Yunohama onsen (湯野浜温泉), on the Sea of Japan coast of Tsuruoka. It was built as a staff lodge for Yamagata prefecture's municipal employees, and general guests can stay too. There are two large baths, a viewing bath (展望大浴場) that looks out over the sea and a Japanese-style bath (和風大浴場). Both are gender-separated, and the men's and women's sides swap by time of day, so it is worth seeing both if you stay.
