A five-room minshuku (民宿) on the shore at Himi, Toyama, with every room looking out over Toyama Bay. The draw is the outdoor sauna right at the water's edge, open to the sea, with two cold plunge tubs (one of cooled spring water, one of groundwater) and the sea itself to cool off in. Swimwear is worn in the sauna. The onsen bath is a shared one, and the water has a distinct oily smell that regulars of Toyama springs look for. The rooms have no bath or toilet of their own. In the sauna, traditional irezumi is not accepted, while fashion tattoos are fine if covered with clothing or a sticker.
