Furukawakan

Furukawakan is a small ryokan in Takase Onsen, in Sekikawa village, Niigata. The baths use natural spring water that the inn says is 100% kakenagashi (掛け流し), and guests describe it as hot and warming right through. Day-use bathing (立ち寄り入浴, tachiyori nyuyoku) is possible on some days. The inn is known for generous meals cooked by the proprietress, and it has long-time regulars, including anglers who come for the salmon season. The staff are friendly, the rooms are kept clean, and there is a cat in the building.
